¡Oye!¡Mira!
Performance with Fabiana Vinagre
La Juan Gallery, Madrid, 2019
Listening, reading and writing exercise revolving around the deprivation of the senses of hearing and sight. What would be the experience of sharing the same space and time, but having two totally different perceptions of reality? What would this communication be like? Where would these realities intersect, if they do? The participants are separated in pairs, one deprived of hearing with sound insulators and the other deprived of sight with a blindfold. During one hour of action, both will write in their mother tongue (if he/she so wishes), one what he/she sees and the other what he/she hears. Every 15 minutes an alarm will sound to mark the time as the second common space between the two. At the end of this phase, the written material will be read simultaneously, generating a multilingual dialogue that is the fruit of this shared experience of deprivation.
