CENTRO DADOS NEGROS / Castilla la Mancha A game of improvisation and verbal deconstruction. Three players: two humans and one machine. Intuition, listening and the voice confront the algorithmic programming of a computer. What kind of political speech can be generated?
¡OYE, MIRA! (2019)
LA JUAN GALLERY / Madrid After a common questioning that we both share as artists, Fabiana Vinagre and I began to explore the use of language in everyday life, taking in consideration the power of the word that goes far beyond its meaning. ¡Oye, mira! was created as a listening, reading and writing exercise that investigates the relationship between the deprivation of the senses and language as a way to translate sound and image into new types of poetic expressions.
CÍRCULO DE BELLAS ARTES / Madrid Durational performance composed by Fabiana Vinagre and Yuri Tuma sitting face to face with a book in front of each other. The performers turn the pages one by one of the book that is placed in front of the other performer without ever touching their own. To each page a random word is read aloud creating impromptu and ephemeral poetry. They do that until the books are finished.
URBAN SPACES / Madrid The moving word in a space is transformed into a poetic gesture that questions the use of language in a neoliberal context, one in which language itself has gone through a process of gentrification and the invisiblizing of its codes. This experiential project proposes to give form and shape to the word allowing for its fragility, openness and ambiguity to come to light. Cartographic Poetry will challenge threefold the regulatory norms of language by allowing the body to experience different ways of listening, reading and writing. Collaboration with Fabiana Vinagre
