EXTREME EXTERIOR (2018)
Círculo de Bellas Artes / Madrid / Extreme Exterior is an intervention that explores the radical immateriality of light and reflection and how that affects our perception of boundaries between exterior and interior by reproducing the map of the sky in Spain in mirrors, allowing the spectator to illuminate the piece with a flashlight. It is the result of an ongoing investigation on how mirrored architecture affects the light possibilities as well as the temporality of a space.
La Eriza / Madrid / Before walls, arches and pillars, light and darkness were what separated and united spaces and perhaps it were the muses and prisoners of the original architecture. “Araña” is a lighting intervention specially created for La Eriza that proposes to materialize and imprison the light drawings created by the different light sources of the workshop, focusing on two large chandeliers. Through photography, silhouettes, reflections and opaque materials I explore how to imprint the artificial light in the space, investigating architecture as the science of light.
